Sun Lane - before 1928

Sun Lane marked the end of the High Street, and was bounded on the north side by the grounds of Harpenden Lodge.  In 1928 it was widened, as part of a work-creation project for the unemployed.  One of the cottages (79 High Street) was demolished.
